What could be more incredible than seeing your kids live their dreams and create a life of abundance? As a father of two very different, yet amazing children, I am no different. I want the best for my kids. I want to see my kids live the life they want, and live it with passion.

My daughter, Morgan, has always been a very serious student. Ever since she was a young girl, she has been very committed to school. She recently completed her studies at the University of Central Florida and planned to continue her education in graduate school. She would eventually get her PhD and ultimately become Dr. Kevorkian. I’m not sure how she would deal with that, but that’s another story.

My wife Nancy and I have been involved in Network Marketing since before she was born in 1991. In spite of our success and her exposure to some of the greatest leaders our industry; she has never had an interest in our business, until recently.

A couple of weeks ago my company made the decision to merge with another network marketing company. This was a bold move to say the least. We originally approached the other company with the possibility of selling their product on a private label basis, through our network of distributors. For obvious reasons they did not want to create competition with their distributors, and the idea of merging our downline into their company was hatched.

As part of my due diligence, I asked Morgan to watch a short video on their company and product. I wanted to see what she thought and gain the perspective of a young, 22 year old woman. To my amazement her reaction was, “Dad I want to do this weather you merge your downline or not!”

Wow! My daughter, the same one that wanted to go to graduate school, now wanted to join a network marketing company!

Passion for the Product

What was one of the many lessons I learned through this due diligence process? I learned that product is important in order to create passion. Often times people will join a network marketing company as a “means to an end” with little passion for the product, but this results in selling people solely on the power of network marketing, without any true passion. It’s like trying to sell half of an umbrella. Your product MUST have mass appeal to create massive passion. My company has been very successful in the previous 4 years, but I recognized we had a product with a smaller appeal in the marketplace. I realized then and there, critical growth within your team relies not solely on the power of network marketing, but also on the mass appeal of the product. With that said, look for people who have passion for your product, not just the business. The business is great, but the product will attract the masses, like my 22 year old daughter who finally sees the power of network marketing!
